When we travel our workout consistency suffers. Being on the road, travel by plane, sitting at a conference – the eat-sit-cycle comes on strong and it can be tough to break. It’s not always feasible to get to a gym. Even when you’re in a hotel that has a workout facility, once you’re in a sedentary cycle, outside of your normal environment and routine, it can be difficult to muster the motivation to venture outside of your hotel room.
This is where knowing how to ‘exercise for the road’ comes to the rescue! When you have an exercise routine that is portable and non-reliant on gym equipment it becomes possible and enjoyable to work out no matter where you are. No, we’re not talking about basic push-ups or sit-ups – those aren’t very motivational, and in fact, they might even encourage you to want to eat and sit even more!
Exercise is Excellent Foreplay
It’s no secret that a workout with your significant other offers benefits far beyond the physical transformation. The countless studies over many years and the findings are solid proof; working out together will help you to grow stronger in all aspects of your relationship.
Not already convinced to break out a sweat with your sweetie just yet? Here are just a few of the proven benefits that come from working out as a couple:
Working Out Together Transforms
One of the coaches responsible for our physical transformation is Adrienna (AJ) Jenkins who understands the challenges of working out while traveling and has just the right fix.
We’ve been training with Coach AJ for about 3 years. With her intense workouts, we have transformed our bodies, lost a combined 50 lbs of weight, gained great muscle tone and increased our overall strength. Our relationship has also benefited in all the ways described above, and more!
In this video, Coach AJ shows us three exercises that are ‘on the road’ tested and shares modifications, alignment tips, and the suggested reps so you’ll be ready to beat the eat-sit cycle for good!
Watch the video and learn how to safely and effectively execute each exercise.
Adrienna (AJ) Jenkins is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the Women’s Featherweight division of Bellator.
