Linda: Hey there, it’s Linda and Charles.
Charles: Whoa, guess we got to turn this down a little bit. But we’re still early.
Linda: Yes, we are a few minutes early, but we thought we would just come hang out, see who decides to join us.
Charles: I thought we were gone a do some tequila shot tasting today.
Linda: Oh yeah.
Charles: In honor of Karen …
Linda: And Grace.
Charles: And Grace.
Linda: Hey Grace, I thought we were supposed to do tequila today, tequila tasting somewhere.
Charles: We’re going to make it happen. We have to do that, it’s going to happen, it’s got to happen.
Linda: Yeah, I was going to have shot glasses lined up with some, I guess, what would we put in there, some iced tea or something. Hey, two people, one person. Andy, hey. We’re a little early.
Charles: Andy, what’s going on. Anyway, again, you were going to line up water and [inaudible 00:00:57] it off as tequila tasting?
Linda: I was going to do different colors, I was going to have the Anejo and the Reposado, but it was going to be water and iced tea …
Charles: We will never do fake, I promise. We will never do fake. Hey Karen, what’s going on?
Linda: Uh-oh, she’s at work. We’re pretending like we’re doing tequila taste.
Charles: No we’re not, we’re going to do tequila tasting. Come on, that’s not even right.
Linda: Whatever. Those of you that are live, remember, if you comment while you’re live, while we’re live, you get two entries to win the iTunes gift card this time.
Charles: That’s right, I got it.
Charles: If while we’re live, you comment, you get two, but if you comment after we’re live, until what time … ?
Linda: 4 o’clock tomorrow.
Charles: 4 o’clock Saturday, 4 PM Pacific time Saturday, you get one entry. Just because you don’t comment when we’re live, it doesn’t mean you don’t have a choice or a chance. We’re going to need more paper.
Linda: I know. And no, we didn’t get our workout on, even though we have our fun-loving couple shirts on.
Charles: Karen’s already got two tickets though.
Linda: I know.
Charles: Since she showed up. outstanding.
Linda: And she commented.
Charles: I should probably turn off my … Hey this is a workout song, right Karen? We used to do 21s with AJ.
Linda: Iron fit.
Charles: Iron fit. All right, so it’s 21:58.
Linda: Wow, we still have two minutes.
Charles: We’re early?
Linda: We’re early for once.
Charles: Holy Moly!
Linda: We were so late on announcing everything last week …
Charles: Hey, there’s Hector and Grace!
Linda: Hey Grace.
Charles: Or Grace, that’s not Hector watching.
Linda: We were late announcing because we were actually at Grace’s house, so we’re going to blame her.
Charles: That was kind of her fault, but it’s okay.
Linda: We made the announcement, I think it was like Tuesday.
Charles: But it still worked, everything worked out. Grace, since you just got in, the simple fact that you’re here and said his means you get two entries.
Linda: This time.
Charles: This time.
Linda: You and Karen. Karen, I know you said your connection, is wonky right now, but we know you’re on, we can see you coming in and out. Grace said, “It’s always my fault.” We needed an excuse.
Charles: All right, so today, it’s almost 1 o’clock dear, are we going to wait?
Linda: Yeah. Today we’re going to talk about having fun. What does that mean?
Charles: Oh my goodness, I think you can plug anything in there, right?
Charles: Like a personal record for a squat of 215. Having fun.
Linda: Yes. Go Karen, go Karen!
Charles: Congratulations Karen, that’s awesome. Or, tequila tasting. That’s clearly fun, we should’ve did that. And no again, just to be clear, we’re not going to substitute artificial anything for that, we’re going to be correct.
Linda: Come correct.
Charles: Come correct, exactly.
Linda: It’s 1 o’clock, we can start.
Charles: Oh, we can start.
Linda: We can stop.
Charles: Right on.
Linda: Having fun until upcoming events. Although we’re based in Southern California …
Charles: Oh I got these on. I can’t see.
Linda: There’s events that happen all the time. I’m on a bunch of email lists and everything, so I get a “Things to do in San Diego this weekend.” I get it during the week so I know what’s happening during the weekend.
Charles: Yeah, but we’re not even going to be in San Diego this next week. We’re going to be in San Antonio, Texas.
Linda: I know. I’m giving some tips here to get on that email list.
Linda: Anyway, it’s Valentine’s day weekend, and one of our local casino and resorts has something going on.
Charles: We’re not talking about that. Hey guys, what have you guys got planned? Because I go back to a couple weeks ago, we talked about I think this whole Valentine’s day is made up nonsense for folks. Although, I do enjoy it. You do not necessarily have to have Valentine’s day as an excuse or reason to go out and enjoy yourself.
Charles: Okay. So, again, next week, we’re in San Antonio and there is a ton of stuff and yet nothing at the same time in San Antonio. So, Muey or May and-
Charles: Christopher. Hey look, we need some ideas. Some tips, some tricks on what to do next week while we’re in your city.
Linda: And you’re going to be in Vegas. So there’s an oyster bar that is amazing inside of Palace Station.
Charles: Oh yeah.
Linda: It’s a long wait, but it’s worth the wait. It’s amazing.
Charles: They call them pots. If you go there, you’ll see them. It’s called a pot and I promise you, you won’t regret it.
Charles: But again, we need some tips on what to go and do in San Antonio while we’re there. I know there’s I think a cattle show and I’ve never been and I would
go. The band Perry is playing.
Charles: There’s a free Frida Kahlo exhibit. I’d love to go and see that. There is also some superheros workout free thing in the park. And you’ve got to bring your tennis shoes, so we might go and do that.
Linda: Oh we might, yeah.
Charles: We’ll see what’s going on. But to your point, you’re right – we live in Southern California within a couple of miles of a pretty big casino called Pechanga. Next week they’re doing their-
Linda: This week.
Charles: This week? No the 10th?
Linda: Today’s the 10th.
Charles: Oh, that’s today.
Linda: And tomorrow.
Charles: Who knew. So tomorrow, today and tomorrow, maybe we should go to this. Today and tomorrow they’re doing chocolate and wine tasting. The way this is broke out is it says Friday February 10th, enjoy an array of chocolate and pastries while sampling a variety of wine. So that would be wine and chocolate tasting. There’s tickets all over the place. If you’re a designated driver, it’s $30.
Linda: So you can’t drink, but you can eat.
Charles: General admission is $55. A VIP ticket is $75 and if you want to go to both days, because tomorrow Saturday February 11th from 1 to 5, the most notable wineries from [inaudible 00:06:51] valleys [inaudible 00:06:51] France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand and beyond, will offer a few hundred of their finest vintages, along with line music. Sip and savor as you sample a variety of distinguished dishes from the award winning chefs of Pechanga resort casino. I would rather go to that one.
Charles: Hey, check this out, if you don’t have anything on the agenda or filling out your Valentine’s day, that’s a good one.
Charles: Now, when we get back from San Antonio, what day are we going to go to this?
Linda: The 19th.
Charles: February 19th. This is one I’m really excited about. It’s the travel and adventure conference.
Linda: Oh, it sounds like FLC.
Charles: That’s FLC all day long. Even though the one we’re going to is February 18th and 19th. This week on February 11th and 12th up in San Francisco, they have one. It’s probably at the Moscone Center, so check that out. San Diego, March 4th and 5th. I think I got it right now.
Linda: And we’re going. We’re going on the 4th.
Charles: San Diego, March 4th and 5th. So we’re going to go to two of them, then.
Charles: We’re going to go to Los Angeles and then in March we’re going to go to San Diego.
Linda: Yeah. I have another thing for March …
Charles: If you’re in and around LA on February 18th or 19th, or San Diego March 4th or 5th, let’s get together and go to the travel and adventure show.
Linda: Yeah. The one in Los Angeles, the tickets are about $10 a piece. Although, I think I just got a promo code after we got our tickets, so I can post that. And then I posted free promo code or the one in San Diego. So the admission is free if you want to go to that one.
Charles: What did you say, free? That’s a bargain at twice the price.
Charles: Look, that just sounds like fun, plain and simple.
Charles: And look, don’t lie, you know when you go to Costco, you know taste all those little things too. So instead of going to Costco, let’s go to La Costa resort and try that out, it’ll be much more fun, I promise.
Charles: But maybe we’ll have some when we come back. Explore cultural entertainment from around the world and plan your next vacation in one day under one roof. That to me is really what’s so appealing about this. Explore cultural entertainment from around the world. Get a taste from cultures from around the world and experience the rhythm and vibes of distant lands. Again, tickets start at $11, but we know someone who’s got the hook up on free and if it’s free, it’s for me. Again, check this little guy out. Could be fun.
Linda: My plan for going there is to get some hook ups, definitely.
Charles: Oh yeah.
Linda: What I’m hoping to do is to have … We have almost 500 people in our group and I’ve asked on several occasions, we don’t have a travel agent in the group. So I plan to come back with one or more travel agent partners to bring to everyone. But more importantly there’s going to be resorts there selling packages and things like that, so I’m going to try to see what we can bring into the group. I have some trips that I’d like to do this year, so I hope we can wheel and deal while we’re there and we might need to keep the credit card at home, or clear off, or something.
Charles: Look, very simple. We ain’t trying, we are doing. That’s the mission. We are going and coming back with some cool stuff for all of us to do.
Charles: Plain and simple. Back to back, going to LA, then back down to San Diego between both dates and between me and you, we’re going to have some fun stuff. Oh, by the way! Big announcement, big announcement. I’d say drum roll, but neither one of us can drum roll very well. Oh, that’s pretty good. On the fun loving couples website, www.funlovingcouples.com if you look up under join and there’s a partner and then there’s a member. Members don’t have to join yet, because it’s free to all members. But partners we’ve just added are partner business directory and there’s only a few partners in there right now. Any business that qualifies is either travel, eat well, work out, have fun, can get a free listing. This is a chance for you to encourage the businesses that you like to support, whether it’s a gym, a restaurant, a hotel, anything that fits into fun loving couples verticals-
Charles: Plug them in and we will start working with them to get some exclusive offers for the group. I’m really excited about that because that adds a new dimension, a new element for all us as members. And that’s not just Southern California, it’s across the globe, so go check that out. Share it with your favorite restaurant or favorite place and get them a business listing.
Linda: Yeah, there’s levels to the business listing. If you just wanted to put someone in, you could submit it. We don’t want restaurant chains in there right now.
Charles: No McDonald’s.
Linda: Yeah. Although, there’s a couple of chains that we like and there’s some great servers that we know there, but for right now we want to keep it the mom and pop, or things like that.
Charles: Absolutely. What else you got?
Charles: No, no.
Linda: I know, I’m looking at his cheat sheet.
Charles: This is mine.
Linda: No, well, we want to know where you’re going. What upcoming events are you going to? Where are you and your partner going on Valentine’s Day, or what are you doing? Share it with the group, we want to see pictures.
Charles: You know what else, I’m calling out Davide Di Giorgio right now, because Davide you said you were going to do yoga on the beach and let’s be clear, I’m not built for yoga, but I would come and do yoga on the beach.
Linda: Well, he and I are working on it. We’re going to do mimosas on the beach and all that. But that’s going to have to be when it’s nice out.
Charles: You’re going to need a business permit and security for that, then.
Linda: Oh, alright. Forget it. We’re going to go to his place and have a rooftop overlooking downtown.
Charles: We’ll figure something out. Alright, there’s another big one. Has anyone ever heard of Kaaboo? That’s not that Shaq movie, what’s that, Kaaboo? That was Shazam, sorry. Anyway, Kaaboo in Del Mar. Last year, we heard about for the first time and I’m a little upset, because last year’s line-up was crazy, off the charts.
First of all, here’s Kaaboo. Let me tell you what it is and as you see in that, they’ve announced their first band which is Weezer. I’m going to read from the thing, Kaaboo is everything a typical music festival is not. That’s because it’s not a festival. It’s a kind of arts and entertainment mixed experience, designed around comfort, quality and good times. And that is straight up fun loving couples avenue, right?
Charles: Kaaboo was created by music lovers, for music lovers. It’s called an adult escape, uniquely curated to appeal to your five senses. What are those? Sight, sound, smell, touch.
Charles: I’m missing one or two of them.
Linda: Taste, taste.
Charles: With world class music, hilarious comedy, incredible cuisine, craft libations, inspiring contemporary art and personal indulgences.
Linda: I want to go.
Charles: Last year, 2016, Lenny Kravitz, Aerosmith, Jack Smith, Fall Out Boy, The Chainsmokers, Gavin DeGraw, Third Eye Blind, Ludacris.
Charles: That’s some workout music. Cypress Hill, Citizen Cope, who we saw. Blues Traveler, G Love and Special Sauce, oh my goodness. Sugar Ray, we saw them
years ago, they got a great show. Chris Isaac, Macey Gray, I’m just going to leave that there. And Cheech and Chong, are you kidding me, are you kidding me, that’s insane. Anyway, the dates are September 15th and 17th.
Linda: 15th, through 17th. That’s three days.
Charles: Oh, yeah. It is three days, sorry.
Linda: We were at my brothers wedding, that was a big thing.
Charles: That’s right. You’re going to continue to hear about this and listen, you’ve got to set aside some money, because this one ain’t cheap, folks. But it’s not meant to be cheap, let me come back to that. The cost for this-
Linda: You got it, Karen.
Charles: Yeah, we know someone who can drive, absolutely. The cost for this is 255 a person. But wait, don’t freak out and go into a state of shock. Listen, here’s the way I look at it. 255 is an important differentiator, because we’ve all been to those places where the drinks are a dollar, or five dollars. And it attracts those one dollar or five dollar drink attendees and there’s always some drama and nonsense. And I’m not saying 255 is going to avoid all of that. However, it definitely is a way to separate them and we can just have a nice chill three days at Kaaboo in Del Mar. Start saving your coins now, we’ll line up a party bus because we know somebody. And I think that’s a good road trip to Del Mar for three days of just crazy entertainment.
Linda: And they’re just starting to put it all together for this year, so we can keep posting some updates. I wonder if there’s a group rate?
Charles: You know what, we can find out. Let’s broker a deal.
Charles: Grace says, 255, that’s one stop at-
Wooo, you are-
Linda: That’s true.
Charles: That’s one stop at Crush and Brew, you ain’t lying. I woke up the next day with what the heck, what did we buy. We bought some of Grace’s stuff, too. Hey, anyway, remember, Kaaboo, if I can do this right. September 15th and 17th, you’ve got to come check it out, it’s going to be fun and I think we’re going to start doing this on a monthly basis.
Linda: Yeah. Like upcoming events for the next whatever.
Charles: Hey, wherever you are from around the country, east coast, west coast, out of state, out of country, let’s find out what’s going on. Because you never know who’s going to be in town. Think about this, next week we’re going to be in San Antonio, were Muey and Christopher are at. But they’re going to be in Vegas. So I’d like to know what’s going on in San Antonio and if we had someone in Vegas, they could tell them what to do in Vegas. Although, I’m pretty sure you can get-
Linda: Yeah, I think it’s-
Charles: You can find anything to do in Vegas.
Linda: Yeah, at anytime in the day.
Charles: So, anyway.
Linda: We’ll keep this up. But the March stuff, that’s my birthday weekend, so I don’t know. We might need to do something regarding that.
Charles: For which one? Oh, okay, nevermind.
Charles: Look, I got to play it right.
Linda: I know. Anyway, we want to hear some things you’re going to in the next couple of months, no matter what city you’re in. Maybe you’re in Chicago and there’s something really fun happening in April. We might just need to fly to it, you never know. So, share!
Charles: Hey, listen. Here’s our plan for this year. Seattle, Chicago, Costa Rica and Chile. Maybe Florida as well.
Linda: Maybe. We’ll have to see.
Linda: Happy Valentine’s day. Post videos, pictures. We want to know where you’re going, what you’re doing and what you’re eating. So, have a safe one!
Charles: Fun loving couples. Out. I guess I dropped the mike, it didn’t work out too well. I’ll practice next time.
Linda: Oh, commenting live, both Karen and Grace-
